Question regarding child entering canada alone after parent.

I am trying to find out the answer to this scenario and if people have any idea if it can be done please let me know. thx

Ok, my wife intends on arriving in Canada in about 1.5 months and she has a 17 year old son who will finish school in November and would arrive in Canada in December alone. (they would both have their PR visa's of course)

Can a accompanying child arrive in Canada after their parent does? or do they have to enter Canada at the same time?

I would think customs would let him through as long as he has a letter allowing him to travel alone i think no?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the accompanying child can arrive after the parent does

Yeah comp he can come alone and land on his own,better the mother was there when he lands if need be so when he gets here he can simply say his mom is on this side of the gate waiting for him..But he has the landing papers correct,so he can come on his own he doesnt need letters he is already cleared to come.

We are still waiting also for the return of the passport.

She emailed them they told her it was sent and she should have it monday.So we will see they told her it would be here the end of the week past but she said it didnt show up Fri so i would imagine it will be mon.
