Question regarding AOR

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly is contained within the AOR package that they receive. Is is simply an ackowledgement of receipt, or could it contain any information/document requests?

I submitted my application on June 4th 2010. e-Cas online shows processing began on October 7th 2010, and is shown as "in process". I have still not received an AOR by email or snail mail.

Just making sure they are not waiting on me without me knowing it.

You should have received your AOR shortly (about a week) after it got put into processing.

The AOR contains
1) receipt for the application fee of $550
2) FILE NUMBER

I have not heard of additional documents being requested with the AOR, but you should be concerned if you did not receive your AOR - either your spam filter got your email, CIC has an error in the email address, or a mailed letter went astray.

I would definitely write an email to CIC and tell them you did not yet receive the AOR / File number, and indicate the date it was placed into processing. Send a case-specific inquiry, include your full name, DOB, Place of Birth (Country), and client ID number.

I sent a case specific enquiry about the fact that I have not recieved an AOR.

The response was "Your application is in pocess. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete. Regards, Canadian Consulate General Buffalo."

I guess that the AOR package did not contain any document or information requests, and that all is proceeding as normal, at least I hope so.
