Just a question to folks after applying citizenship is anyone planning to go out of canada for 6 months or more and if so what are the consequences that might be faced ? Is it safe to go for example for settling back hom problems or so ? And even after applying what mailing address should be given does anyone know of a mail store that checks mails and let's know of receiving mails and all and how do you get notified before the oath ? Do you get notified by ecas only or is it by letter ?

And also for people applying from mississauga is it better or for people applying from St Clair is it better or scarborough which local office is the fastest ? Any suggestions please let know if anyone has experiance or advise Thanks a lot ...

Its all depend on applicant background. Some applicants are very luck and getting test invite within 6 months some are within 10 months. So far applicant from Mississauga and some cases scarborough are getting test and oath invite faster then any other cities. If you want to go out of country and if your address going to change than make sure you update your new address with CIC. I don't know any place who can check mails for you. You have use your trusted friends or relative address for that matter. Good luck and all the best.

As far as I know Government official letter are not forward able. At Envelope its printed do not forward. I might be wrong better double check if you choose to go this route. Cheers

Though there is no reported problems for travel but it is not recommended to stay out of Canada long especially on this bad weather when Govt. and CIC is strengthening the Citizenship Act and process to eliminate the so called "Canadians/citizens of convenience"

A vacation or a short trip abroad may be reasonable and easy to explain when you appear for the test and interview with CIC officials but multiple trips / long absence from Canada make your case suspicious and good enough to trigger RQ/Ridiculous Questions!

I am not scaring you but only making you informed. I have seen people returned from oath table just because of mis-representations which we consider of zero importance, they found out later or delayed until ceremony to embarrass(punish) people.

The old days are gone my friends, unfortunately due to widespread abuse and regular fraud. So better be careful on these trembling waters!
