Hey everyone! I've been here in Canada with my boyfriend for 7 months, just got approved to stay as a visitor for another 5 months, so I'm happy.. we're hoping to be able to apply as common law come September.

Along with my approved application, they sent me a thing saying I have to have a medical exam because I'm from Argentina. I was wondering, once I apply for PR, will this medical exam be enough, or will I have to have another one then? Does anybody know?

Thanks!!

I just read somewhere that it lasts for 1 year? That would be great?

Hi, medicals do last for a year, but I can't tell from your message if you used a designated medical practitioner (DMP). If you didn't, you have to go to a specific doctor approved by CIC and have the report done there.

Hi there... I was curious if anyone would know the answer to this question...

Originally, I was going to sponsor my common law partner from within Canada and we had him go to a designated immigration doctor within Canada and we sent the sponsorship application to Vegreville Alberta... NOW, to make a long story short, we withdrew the inland application due to many reasons and are starting fresh with an outland application.. .I would like to know if that medical exam that was done in October 2009 and valid for 1 year, will still be ok to be used with the outland application because the outland application gets processed in Mississauga ONTARIO, not Vegreville Alberta...........

HELP anyone !!!

I'm not sure Stacey, but I hope someone else can help you with that one..

sbw: I haven't had the exam yet. But yeah, I'm going to go to one of the CIC designated doctors. Hope we can still use these exam results even if we decide to apply outland?
