Hi there, I am a European citizen wanting to work and live in Canada. I am wanting to apply online for the documents, but don't know where to start. So my question is, if someone can guide me in what to do. Do I apply for a work visa, permanent resident? I have no idea.

Thank you in advance! :)

If you are interested in applying to immigrate, you will have to read through the various Canadian immigration programs to see if you qualify to apply. You can find this information here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

If you don't feel comfortable or don't have time to do this research yourself, then I would recommend you hire an immigration consultant to assist you.

If you are interested in coming to Canada on a work permit, you will first have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a full time role and is also able to obtain an approved LMIA. So the first step for a work permit is to find a job and employer in Canada.

Hello and thank you so much for your answer! :)

May I ask:

1) The only way is to find an employer and then apply? There's no other alternative? How can I begin looking for a Canadian employer by being abroad?

2) Is it wrong to apply first for permanent residence?

3) Also I would Like to ask How do I find a immigration consultant?

4) LMO is only obtained by potential employers ?

Thank you once more !! :)

1- yes , find an EMPLOYER who will give u job offer full time and is willing to apply for LMIA . Every employer hirig foreigner should apply for LMIA.

2- it is not wrong but if u wanna apply for PR first then FSW is the option l federal skilled worker program where it takes from 12months to more or less. And you can apply directly from your home country by gathering docs and you SHOULD BE A SKILLED WORKER in skilled field.

3- you can find IMMI.LAWYER online .. They have websites advertised in internet. Or else you can search them in google by CANADIAN IMII lawyer etc.

4- Yes , EMPLOYERS SHOUD GO THROUGH ALOT because of new rule and it is not LMO anymore its called LMIA now. And has new rules with two categories . LMIA is based on 2 categories - HIGH WAGE &LOW WAGE.
