HI,

I got my work permit approved using my company's LMO, I applied under CEC and got my AOR already. Supposedly permit will expire on NOV can I still apply for BOWP? Is it possible even if I already have my new work permit? ( I'm asking this because I wanted to have a second or even third job because I'm a bread winner).

Yeah why not. you got your AOR, just apply for a bridging open work permit.

oh.. then nope. You already got the company LMO. And it's far from being expired >.> but there are rare cases thou that the VO cancels the LMO and gives u bridging OWP

If you hold valid work permit that won't expire in 4 months, in general they won't give you a BOWP.

I may find myself in a similar situation soon. My employer is working on a sponsored permit for me at the same time as I am waiting for my AOR. If I get the sponsored permit before the AOR I am then locked in to work with my current employer (which makes me feel uneasy). I can see being able to make an argument that you want a BOWP instead of the LMO (LMIA) permit for more flexibility while in Canada, whether they listen or not... who knows.

I will probably attempt to get BOWP if I get the other visa permit at some point, but at this point it looks very likely my AOR should come before my current work permit expires (Nov 19).

Once you have a positive LMO you are no longer qualify for BOWP.
