Hi

I have a question, i am from the us married to a canadian, i currently live in canada with her, i was wondering if it would be ok for me to apply outland and then apply for an extended visa to stay with her while it's been processed or is that not possible?

Also we just got the FBI report back, how long is that good for?

thank you

Hi epx,

I'm a German, married to a Canadian. I have lived in Canada for one year with a Working Holiday Visa, before that expired, I changed my status to Visitor. It got approved and I got a letter with a Visitor Record for 6 months. So I can stay with my husband in Canada legally, but I am not allowed to work.

We're applying outland as well, I mentioned this as a reason why I would like to change my status.

Hope that helps!

Yes, you can apply outland through Buffalo and apply for extension of your visitor status (assuming this is what you have) when it is about to expire.

You application with FBI cert and other required documents must be received by CIC in Mississauga within 3 months' of the FBI search completion date.

Good luck!
