I'm currently outside Canada and have valid Canada work permit (closed) with current employer. There are no opportunities with my employer and hence cannot go to Canada.
Can I enter Canada using this permit in any form? Recently one consultancy reached out to me saying that the current work permit can be used to obtain a PR. Is this possible?
Appreciate your responses.

Based on the information you have provided - it's hard to say if your work permit will help you to apply for PR. For example, the job would have to be NOC A, B or 0. Also, you would need to have a letter from your employer confirming the job offer is permanent. It may also be a problem if you say you have a job offer but CIC finds out you aren't actually working for the employer. So my thinking is that you will probably have difficulty using your current job to help you get PR.

I would recommend you post your question to the Express Entry section of the forum.

Yes, you can enter in Canada with your WP, it's still being valid even if you lost your job (it's my opinion, I tried to find some CIC information but I couldn't )

I didn't lost my job fortunately, but I came back to Canada like 5 times with my WP and don't remember any question about current job.

Anyways, if officer ask better don't lie, you can explain you're coming back to finish pending questions (cancel bank accounts, pick stuff up...) or even try to find another legal job (with LMIA).

About PR it's a bit more complicated.
If you did work as NOC 0, A or B more than 1 year full time you could be eligible for CEC class, otherwise perhaps under FSW or FST programs or Provincial nominations.
