Question on withdrawing visitor record

Hey all so my question is I entered Canada on December 5th 2021. I submitted a visitor record application in may to extend my stay. The reason for this being I was marrying my then fiancé and planning to do an inland application. Something has come up and I will have to return to my home country (USA) and we will now be submitting the application Outland. Since I have now left Canada I was wondering if there is any harm to my Outland application or in attempting to see my spouse in a couple months if I withdraw my application since I’m no longer in Canada. Just wanted to clarify so it should be ok to submit the web form stating I’ve left Canada and to withdraw the visitor record?

You don’t want to withdraw if you’ve stayed past the 6 months just inform IRCC that you have left Canada.
