Hello,

Any one who has successfully applied under CEC, living in Canada please help.

My wife and I have been living in Canada for the past 6 years and we qualify to apply under the CEC. (We are originally from India,)
We currently live in BC and have a child who is a Canadian citizen.

- What Visa office do i put for Question 4 " Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application"
I have searched the forums, and am coming up with different answers. Keep in mind that we have been living in Canada for 6 years now.

- Do i have to pay the processing fee ($150) for my child even though he is already a Canadian citizen. And do i need to provide 6 pictures for him as well.

Re: Applying under CEC from Within Canada

Thank you for your response,

One more question regarding work experience hours requirement.

It appears that the previous requirement was 2 yrs of work experience accrued over 3 years.
When i look at the CIC webpage, it appears that the requirement has now changed to "30 hours per week for one year" this is equal to 30 * 52 = 1560 hours

Could you please confirm that all we need is 1560 hours within 2 years to qualify.

Thank you

1560 within the last three years. However, you cannot count any more than 30 hours for any given qualifying week.

Let's say one week you worked 45 hours. The most you can count from this week towards your application is 30.

Hope this helps.

From the website
" You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week."

So my wife has been working 28 hours per week since June 2012. Around October 2013 she will have the total 1560 hours.

So if I am reading this correctly as long as she has the required 1560 hours and its more than 12 months then she will be fine (even though its not 30 hours per week)

Is this correct?

Thank you!

Assuming she works exactly 28 hours per week and it doesn't vary, it should be fine. If it varies, you should do a calculation to work out exactly what does and doesn't count.
