Question on the source of support section of the Checklist

Hello! Maybe someone else here will have encountered a similar situation. I am married to a Canadian citizen and am a citizen of the United States myself, currently going through the process of trying to finish my immigration application.
My biggest question lies in part B section 5 of the family/spousal sponsorship: it asks for information on the employment/source of support that the sponsor is expected to provide. However, as it stands currently, my Sponsor is a full time University student, in fairly high level classes, so he is only able to work in the summer. Currently I am, and am planned to be the financial backbone of our relationship, both now and when we move in together.
Given this, what exactly should we put for this section? I imagine I should check the, "if you are not working in Canada" checkbox, which asks for other documentation of how we plan to support ourselves. However, aside from explaining that I, the principal applicant, am planned to be the financial support, I am unsure as to what documentation to provide. I've gotten letters from my current employers stating the period of employment, salary, and regular hours per week, but I don't know what else I should submit, or what would help support the fact that I, the principal applicant, will be our source of support, or what they would want to see from me on that front. Of note, we do have a savings in the works, and I imagine it might help to show them documentation of this? At the moment, we have roughly 3,000 saved up, and are contributing an additional 1,100 every month (550 every two weeks, to be precise.) I am, however, a little nervous that showing them a savings of only 3,000 usd will not be convincing enough, although I can also attach a bank statement showing the regular bi weekly $550 deposits, with the explanation that we will continue to add 1,100 a month to our savings through the full time our application processing period, so that when we do move in together we will have a fair savings in addition to the active work income I will have. I only wonder if the evidence of these regular deposits are enough to prove that when the time comes we will have a sufficient savings, and that it is growing.
So really, I'm wondering what else I should/can submit to show that we can support ourselves, and if our current savings+proof of our steady additions will be sufficient, in addition to anything else?.
It doesn't exactly give guidelines for if the principal applicant is also the financial support, so I feel a little like we're working blind on that front.

I also have documentation of me being financial support even while we're apart, if it helps. Records of finances that have been sent from me to him, anywhere from 50-100 dollars through paypal for groceries and such, to even a few records of ~$2,000 transactions being sent to him to cover his tuition every semester for the past two years.

So, in addition to our savings, bank statements of regular deposits, letters from my employers stating my period of employment, hours per week, and salary, is there anything else I can provide/explanations I should give to convince the immigration office that we can sufficiently support ourselves even if my sponsor is working only during the summer, due to his University studies? I plan to work full time up there, and have no doubts that we can support ourselves on this front, but I just want to be sure the immigration office wouldn't have any doubts either.
We are married, and I know there's no minimum income required to sponsor a spouse, but any advice for convincing them that we're self sufficient would be an excellent help! Thank you all so much!

I know this post was old but I am in a similar situation. I was wondering what you ended up doing and if it worked? Thanks!
