Question on Notary in US and Transcripts.

Hello Seniors, I am getting mix opinion for Transcript requirement of CHC Buffalo.

I saw in some other thread that notarized copy of marksheet is also accepted.
one of my friends agent in Canada also said Notary is fine with CHC Buffalo.

I request the more response from applicants of CHC Buffalo...

guys please help, I need to decide upon based on your valuable feedback..

I think it depends on the country - no excuses if it is a university in the USA, Europe etc. Someone recently posted an email response from CIC-Buffalo about transcripts - basically said that universities in India were capable of issuing transcripts in sealed envelopes too, no excuses...

Yes,... I would agree with jes_ON,... it depends on the country,... if you are residing in The USA,.. then I would believe that you need the transcripts.

Why do I say this ?

If you look at the following two kits,... ie one specifically for Buffalo and another for the rest of the world,... the Buffalo kit mentions transcripts, and the one for the rest of the world mentions notarized marksheets.

I would like to hear from some applicants from USA, who has explored the option of sending notarized copy of mark sheet.

Problem in getting transcript in university sealed envelop is since I don't have any body in the town where I studied, and it would be very tough task for me to have some body go there and apply for transcript. so I am trying out the option of Notaries copy.

Guys please help out if some one tried notaries copy of mark-sheet option to CHC Buffalo and been successful.

well, I am an applicant from the USA. That's not the issue - the question is, what country is the university in?

I sent notarized copy of the marksheets for my Indian qualifications and they were accepted.
I added a note in my cover letter that the practice of issuing original transcripts was not available in India.
I have US degrees as well - but for those I sent original transcripts in sealed cover - from the university registrar office.
Perhaps my sending of US documents established the genuineness of my Indian marksheets.
I cannot say if it did - but there were no questions raised.

I am also from California and is in same boat as far as notarization is concerned. Please let me know how did you submit your documents? Did Buffalo accept documents with notarization done on seperate sheet rather than on photocopy page.

Hi seniors,

I got all my documents notarized long back.
I was about to send my documents soon.
The question is I got the public notary stamp (round seal) on my documents.
Below that seal it states my commission expires on Nov 12, 2010.
Can I still use those notarized documents to send to CIC, Canada now.

Notaries in the state of California are only allowed to certify two items: Power of Attorney and items from their journals. The document mentioned above shifts the certifying of the copy from the notary to the one presenting the documents.
