Question on filling occupation in schedule 3-economic classes -12 -B

Dear friends,

For question 12 B -work experience ,List occupations , Do i need to list all my job titles with different employers that I have worked?
or only one generic occupation
like Software consultant in one row for all my IT jobs with different IT organizations. because I am software engineer/Architect since last 10+ years with different job titles in vaious IT companes but doing same kind of occupation/job/work


Please suggest what to write for occupation whether all job titles i have worked in previous IT comapnies or one generic occupaiton like IT consutant . my current title is manager -projects but my duties are related to software architecture/design
and development and planning to apply now asap

I hope other's respond to you, in the meanwhile:

I personally, listed each job I worked, with the from and to dates. For the occupation, I listed the position that was mentioned on my job offer letter i.e. when signing the job contract. So, yes, I put in the job titles. These need not be the same as what the NOC list calls your job. (In your case I would write either Project Manager, or Software Project Manager.)

Please don't combine the experience from different employers into one. Normally, you need to get experience letters from each of your employers in the past 10 years. However, if you are not claiming points from that employment (may be a few prior empolyers where you cannot get the reference letter), you can just provide the job offer letter and some payslips/tax forms to show that you actually worked. You won't be able to claim any points from this though.

In your evaluation, your duties are much more important than you job title. As long as the job title matches the one on your reference letter, and your duties match the NOC, you are good.

so my question is ,Can use those experience letters or do i need to get new refrence letters form previous employments? it is very difficult now to get refrence letters from previous employers with in this dec 2014 time frame

The real problem is that the job duties and responsibilities should match 80% with what your NOC says the job duties should be. In my experience, sometimes your job duties need to "re-phrased" a bit, to avoid any ambiguity when reviewed by the VO. If your letters match 80% of the duties in the NOC, you are good. Otherwise, depending on amount of points you need, get that much work experience documented.

Please, please, take these letters very seriously. I personally think this is the most important part of the application, because the rest does not depend on the interpretation of the VO. For e.g. your IELTS or ECA is not open to interpretation by the VO. This is the only part that is really not in your hands.

In my case there were some jobs I could not get reference letters that matched the NOC. I sent them, but I told the VO that I am not looking for any points from them. The others where I could get NOC matching letters, I put in the front. I think I am good because I got PER and MR.

By the way, you need not have the physical letter. If someone could sign and scan it to you, it would be good enough, because you have to send copies.
