Question on Alberta Medicare. Plz advise

I am new to this forum .
Can anyone answer to my query.
At present i am in UAE.

i Got visa stamped on passport and plan to move to Alberta in July.

Is it true that we get medical insurance in Alberta from day 1 of landing.

Is there any waiting period??

Do i need to take Medical insurance from Gulf for 1,2,3 months ??

Appreciate forum members advise.

I am also planning to move to Alberta if we get the visas. I have also read in thier web site that it is covered from day one. why dont you look at thier official web site, goverment of alberta and u can get the answer. my brother also tells me, it is covered from day 1.

I gone through form for Application for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan Coverage. It says the following.

Who should apply?
All permanent residents of Alberta must register themselves and their dependants with the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.

Who is considered a permanent Alberta resident?
A permanent Alberta resident is a person who has the legal right to remain in Canada, makes Alberta his/her permanent home, and is committed to being physically present in Alberta for at least 183 days in a 12-month period.

When does coverage start?
If you are moving to Alberta from within Canada you are eligible for coverage on the
1st day of the 3rd month following the date you establish permanent residency here.
If you are moving from outside Canada you are eligible for coverage on the date you arrive.

Sir, I guess the answer is pretty clear then. It is covered from the 1st day of your arrival.
