Question in regard to Family Class

Hello Everyone,

I am currently on a WHP in Canada that expires in 6 months. I sent off my forms for PR 3 months ago. Am I allowed to stay in Canada while my application is being processed, Even thought my visa will have expired?. I understand I won't be able to work. Thanks!

you will not get implied status just because you sent in a pr application. you will need to maintain legal status as a visitor once your current visa expires. to do that, 1 month before it expires you need to apply to change your status to visitor and ask for an extension of stay. it is quite easy to do online, costs $100 and PR applicants are rarely denied.
