Hi Canada Visa members,
I'm new here and wanted to say hello first of all!
I have a tricky situation related to the above question and I am not sure what to do. I was approved for my temporary work permit and eTA.
In the subject line question, I responded "No", that I wasn't known under "any other name (Nickname, Maiden Name, Alias etc...)", but now I'm not sure if my answer was correct.
I was born "James Harding" and used this name a big chunk of my life, I then added "Robert" to my first names, thus becoming "Robert James Harding". In my logic, the main component of my name has remained the same and I was never known under "any other names", so I ticked "No" in the box.
Now I am worried, that I should have ticked "Yes" and put just "James" in the first name column.
What are your thoughts on this?
Would sending a letter to CIC to clarify this be a good solution? Has anyone done anything similar?
Such a silly, thing and now I don't know what to do and am stressed out. I had no malicious intentions, just a silly oversight and would be more than happy to clarify this with them now, but my departure is soon and I am concerned, they'll just cancel my visa because of something so minor
