Hi everyone,
just a quick question about this question as it appears twice, initially on form 1344 and then again on form 5532 with a slight difference.
On form 1344 it asks about previous common-law relationships or marriages but only gives one spot to list. Now, my previous CL relationship was also my ex-wife. To explain this, I put our marriage information down and at the end of form 1344 I attached a separate question explaining that my ex CL partner was also my ex-wife. It has an end date, not sure if I put the separation day in there or the day the divorce was finalized.
I suspect that is fine.
On form 5532 it again asks but this time there are two slots for it. Should I put my ex's info in as common-law (with the dates we were common-law, the end date the day we were married) and then the second part, the start is marriage date to the end of the relationship, which I'm not sure if I put the separation day in or the date the divorce was finalized.
This is one of the few things that's holding us up, so any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks.
