Hello everybody, i am about to start an application process to the CNO. I have 10 years experience as a nurse. Will it be necessery to send the evaluation part and proof of working hours? I am working in the most burocratik place. Its took me "only" 6 months to recieve a simple description of duties.

Enyone may share a personal experience?

Thank you in advance

Hi, Cim,

You have to send the sample application letter only at this time without the fee.
CNO will send you the application package with the application numbers and different forms with your address on it for employment verification, school of nursing the course outlines and registration confirmation forms (Form B1/B2, Form B3, B4, B7 etc..)
Later CNO will send you the letter of confirmation, update on your application or decision.

hope it helps.

hello cim and hmisabpk...

the CNO has revised their assessment packet and fees last sept 2010... all you need to do now is to go to the CNO website and fill in the information they require and they will send the initial assessment packet to your EMAIL address...

their current initial packet includes the payment form, application and verification of course completion... after that you will receive additional forms through regular mail if they need further information to decide on your case...

best of luck!

Hello all,

I am new to this forum. I find it very informative when I see you people interacting and thanks a lot for sharing so much. I am RN from India and in the process of immigration to Toronto. Sent medicals and PCC and passport to CHC ND on June 1st 2011 and waiting for the Maple leaf on our passports.

Just planning to start the assessment for CNO. I got the initial application package in Sep 2010. But still not applied. Was waiting to see if the immigration is coming along. Now I feel I must start.

Please share with me the procedure step by step. It would be of great help. Also how to send the 678 CAD to CNO? I cannot see any option of DD to send the fees as DD was easier to send to Nova Scotia as well as CHC ND.

hi peanuts,

did u apply as RN or RPN? How many years have u been working as a Nurse?

Not to burst your bubble buddy, but don't bother applying as an RN in Ontario. :D

Whether you've had 1 day or 100 years of nursing experience, it won't mean squat. There is still a VERY HIGH possibility that you will still study for 2-4 years, write the exam, and then try to apply as a nurse there with no Canadian experience, wherein your competition will surely have some.

Good luck
