Question for notarized document

Hi,

It is given that all photocopy must be notarized with these information -

•‘I certify that this is a true copy of the original document’’
•the name of the original document
•the date of the certification
•his or her name
•his or her official position or title
•his or her signature

My question is for appointment letters, like there are 7-8 pages for all apointment letters I have, Does notary public needs to give this information on all the pages or only at main page?

Hi

I am not sure whether all pages required certified copies or not but in my case i have couple of contract of my current employement and couple of contracts from my previous employment. I have manage to get only first and last page certified for all of them.

I am still not sure at this stage.

Can Seniour members provide some feedback or advise on this.

To derive the information logically, its quite simple...

Why is the notarization requested by CHC? that they want some authorized person to certify on your behalf. now, why do they want every document to be notarized - again for the same reason.

Similarly, in a particular document, say passport, every page need to be notarized, as there is every possibility to mis-represent the intermediate pages, if they are not notarized.

Every page of every document need to be notarized - thats the bottomline

I respectfully disagree with boltz. It depends on WHERE YOU ARE and the laws/regulations governing notarization in your jurisdiction. If you are in the USA for example, these laws vary by state; in Canada, by province.

While notarization is in some places done by page, in many jurisdictions, notarization/copy certification is done BY DOCUMENT, not by page. That is, if your original document has 7 stapled pages, the certified copy has to be the same, and will be notarized on either the front page or last. Notaries have to keep a record of what they notarize (e.g. 7 page employment contract), thus if CIC wanted to verify, they could. Sometimes it depends on the type of document, too.

Why not contact a notary in your location and ask? And why not tell us where you are?

I had documents notarised from UK and the notary knows what to do. So do not worry. For example I notarised a full passport, the notary just put a A4 sheet in front of the passport copy saying that the doucments is true copy....... blah blah his name sign stamp date etc and stapled it to the front of the passport putting his signatures and date only on the biodata first page. That is it. The notary will not sign/stamp all the pages of the passport/documents in UK. They notarise (and charge) by document not pages.

I stay in Hyderabad india. I was also thinking that we do not need to notarized the passport copies which is generally 18-20 pages for one passport and at the last stage of process, anyway we need to send them in original.

Hi All

What about Post Office UK Identity Checking Service.

They charge £6.80 for any three documents to be certified.

Is that sufficient or it will be invalid?

Any Feedback on this???

Can some body confirm that even in India, notarization of 1st and last page of passport is sufficient?

I was always (& is ) under the impression that all the pages need to be notarized - either it be employment contract, or passport, or some other multi page document.

Sorry was not aware of other country regulations; however can some 1 who have applied and got accepted confirm that even in india its the same?

when I enquired with notary, they were not aware of it... they said they can do the way I want them to do!

People authorized to certify copies include the following:
In Canada:
• a commissioner of oaths
• a notary public
• a justice of the peace
Outside Canada:
• a judge
• a magistrate
• a notary public
• an officer of a court of justice

This is for boltz,
When it comes to attestation by a Notary Public....there are basically 3 stamps: 1. The round one with the name of the notary public, 2. the attestation stamp where the notary public puts his/her signatures, and 3. the rectangular 'take effect stamp' which is meant for foreign embassies.
When it comes to passports, the first page with your name and photos, and the last page with your family details and address should have all the above three mentioned stamps. However, if there is a page with a previous valid or outdated visa, then that page too should have the above mentioned three stamps. In case of other blank pages, it should just have the round stamp with the name of the notary public.

So, in India, each page needs to have round seal - i mean notarization.
