Guys - I am going to send my documents to Nova Scotia apply for my PR soon via PNP. They ask for a birth ceritificate which I do not have. I have heard some someone who application was returned as he did not have a birth ceriticate. I was born in 1986 in a small town in Punjab where they never issued brth certificates. What have you guys been attaching ? Can I just attach my higher secondary ( Class xth ) ceriticate ?

Hi There,
In Punjab they have birth and death registrar in all districts.
You have to ask civil surgeon office of your concerned district. If they have no entry for your birth then you can get no record certificate and with no record certificate you can attach an affidavit.
Also you can get your birth certificate from Embassy of India. They can issue birth cerificate as per your Passport.

Thanks for responding. A friend of mine attached the one from Indian Embassy based on the passport and it got rejected ;-(
Then you have to contact to birth and death registrar of your área.

If Your Birth was not registered with registrar of Birth and Deaths,

You can do it at a Later date, through Late Registration of Birth (Late Inderaj in Punjabi) process, it goes thorough SDM and could take a month or so.

I know someone who got his made thorough this route,
