[Question] Computer Science Masters.

The Department of Computer Science offers a graduate program leading to three degrees: Master of Science, Master of Science in Applied Computing and Doctor of Philosophy. The program consists of courses and either research (MSc and PhD) or practicum (MScAC) both of which are conducted under the supervision of a faculty member.

Graduate faculty in the Department of Computer Science are interested in a wide range of subjects related to computing, including programming languages and methodology, software engineering, operating systems, compilers, distributed computation, networks, numerical analysis and scientific computing, financial computation, data structures, algorithm design and analysis, computational complexity, cryptography, combinatorics, graph theory, artificial intelligence, neural networks, knowledge representation, computational linguistics, computer vision, robotics, database systems, graphics, animation, interactive computing, and human-computer interaction.

read the 2nd paragraph, if i got an entry into this masters program, can i choose if i will be doing software engineering, operating systems, networks, etc... ?

i will choose 1 or what?

how is masters study?

It is Concordia University, go for Master degree...but it is not so easy u have to work hard...

You have to select different subjects(courses) from the given list...generally we hav to study 11-12 subjects in the whole masters degree(most students choose 3 courses/subjects per semester) .... hav u applied ?? or still wanna apply??? for which intake???

1. If you are doing research based Masters then you will have to do research in a specific field/project and you have to study only 4 to 5 master level subjects. Some of the subjects must be compulsory for you to get better understanding of your field of research while other can be selected upon your choice.

2. In the course based Master's you have to complete 10 courses in total in order to complete your master's degree. You have the choice to select courses from any field of your choice. There will be course offered related to softwares, artificial intelligence etc you can select subjects from any of them.

3. Also note that mostly, a lot of courses are mentioned on universities' website and only some of them are offered each semesters there might be courses which are shown on the list of available courses but they may not be offered in a particular semester.

4. Master's degree in Canada will not be easy but if one work hard nothing is difficult.

i also want to apply in winter intake...and my counsellor told told that admissions are provided in winter intake too...

well... i only checked in university of toronto, Computer science masters is closed, they offer only in September i guess.
