Hello everyone,

what do you suggest if I have done cash in hand work previously.
Should I mention those and if I do, would I have to provide reference letter even though I am not using it for points.

Thanks

Yes, you can mention that, but if you are not claiming points for it, reference letters are not needed.

I am not sure ..There are one type of ' cash in job ' in Canada..Where employer gives you cash which is less then minimum fixed per hour value ..They don't provide any document and it is illegal...If you are mentioning same type of job...Need not to do anything..

If there is some other type then I am not having any information

My concern is this. That cash in hand job even though was over a year long, but I am not seeking points for it but it did lead me to become a assistant manager in a restaurant. If I write assistant manager straight away they will wonder how that happened.

So the question is this if I mention it but don't send documents is that okay.

Yeah... If you're talking about a job that your employer or you did not pay taxes for or if it was "off the books", I would avoid putting it in my EE profile - whether in Canada or abroad.

You or your former employer could get in trouble for it. For that reason, your employer would be foolish to give you a reference letter for it anyways...

Only include jobs where all legal requirements were adhered to.

No, that's not okay. Any job you mention in your employment history requires a reference letter.

You could include it in your personal history, but I would advise against it for the reasons mentioned above.

Yeah.. Off the books.
I doubt the employer would ever give me a reference considering I was fired.
I was going through The form and it said fill personal and work history.
That's why I was wondering what would I fill in that.

Well, legally you were unemployed during that period so that's what you should include in the personal history section. Just put "looking for a job" and leave it at that.

That makes sense.
Thank you.
