hi guys, one of the questions on the application asks if i have ever lived with my wife. Technically I have lived with her for over a year but I was always on a visitors visa. Would you answer yes and explain or no? Thanks a lot

put "yes" you have lived with your wife, including dates from all periods (including on tourist visa). I am also in same situation. I have been living in UK and India with my husband on tourist visas for more than a year and I included that in my application.
hope this helps! :)

thanks, theres another question that asks if I have ever resided in a country other than Canada? I assume that I should answer no because this means that I was on a different type of visa than a travelors?

Correct, you are not resident if you are restricted to visitor conditions.

If you have been living in another country for more than a year, even if on a tourist visa, you should answer 'yes' to 'Have you ever resided in another country?' Then attach an explanation that it was on a tourist visa, etc. If it has only been a few months on a tourist visa, then answer 'no.' If it has been a few months at a time, then you went home, then returned for a few months visit, and so on, all on a tourist visa, then 'no', but make sure you explain the circumstances.
In either case, make sure you note all times you have stayed with your wife. Even two weeks together in a hotel should be noted somewhere.
