HI. I have a question to ask, tried to search a circumstance similar to mine but nothing could assure me. So I ask.

I have been to Canada 2005 as a visitor visa and I was only 16 at that time. I stayed for 3 years although I only got 6 month of visiting visa. Year 2008 I came back to my own country, and during the departure no one checked my passport and asked any overstaying status of mine at the airport. They did not even put the stamps and never checked my status. I never got the deportation order or any notice during I was in Canada for 3 years. I never did any illegal thing and never got into any trouble.

Now after 6 years of coming back to my own country, I am planning to revisit Canada for 2 months. This time it is only visiting and I should come back to Korea to finish my university which only left for one semester. But what I am concerned with is when I get to Vancouver airport, will thy know that I have overstayed and reject me to enter the country. My own country has connected to Canada so I dont need to apply for visiting visa.

So, in short, will I be okay to enter Canada after 6 year ago overstayed experience for 3 years?
I would be very appreciated with any ANY replies or similar experiences.

no one is going to be able to tell you for sure because no one knows whether CBSA has this information in their system. you may luck out, and they may not figure it out. Since it was so long ago, my guess is it wasn't even registered in the system. NO ONE CAN TELL YOU FOR SURE!!!!! More likely than not, they will ask you when the last time you were in canada, so you tell them the truth. Let them figure out if you "overstayed". If they ask specific questions, answer them truthfully so it doesn't lead to bigger trouble.

Unfortunately, in situations like these, NO ONE will be able to predict what will happen at the border because EVERY entry is UNIQUE to the border agent you come across, and how THEY feel about what you are telling them. Even if someone had a "similiar" situation, it doesn't mean the same thing is going to happen to you. Again, it's agent specific, so the ONLY way to know for sure if they will let you in is to show up at the border and ask to enter.

Let me guess, you overstayed so you can avoid doing military service right?

Hmmm rhcohen2014 has a good point, and I can't say this is for sure but...

I know of several people that have attempted to abuse of their TRV and when they get to the POE the officer has access to ALL RECORDS of when they arrived and when they left. Even though no passport stamp or scan was made while they depart seems like CBSA has access (maybe that is a requirement for any international vessel) to all information regarding entries and departures. It was a little scary, I have to admit, but they knew as much detail as the flight number of people leaving Canada.

Can't say CBSA has it for sure but I can say that I would not place a bet against CBSA not having that info.
