Hello!

I have a general question about the medical exam for PR applications. Will the examining doctor request to see past medical records or doctors notes in Canada? I ask this because my primary caregiver and I have a fairly close relationship and I share lots of things with her about my general health and life. Something things I've mentioned to her in the past few years include:-
  • Past recreational marijuana usage and drinking (I don't smoke or drink any longer... gives me migraines)
  • Past reliance on over the counter pills to sleep due to stress caused by work and university (melatonin, zQuil, etc.; also not an issue anymore, I sleep quite well these days.)
  • Past issues with mild depression and use of anti-depressants for a few months (was initially diagnosed almost 8 years ago in my home country, and haven't needed anti depressants past the initial 2 years and a couple of months last year; currently off my anti-depressants and doing well.)
  • I mentioned this on a different thread: Details around my transgender identity and potential surgery (I mentioned at one point that I wasn't ready to get any major surgery as I wanted to focus on school and getting PR some day. Recently I've received some gender affirming surgery and am quite comfortable with where things are and do not require the full surgery or added care aside from hormones.)
Obviously I will be honest with the medical examiner when he asks questions and will only reveal as much as he asks for. However, I am worried they will request to see any doctor's notes from the past and take all these into account when determining my medical. Will any of these possibly ding me heavily?

No they cant see any doctor notes. You need to fill out a medical questionnaire and then they will examine you, take blood, pee, xray etc.
