Hello everyone! (Again :p),

Well, im gathering the documents to send to the CIO, and I got to translate the birth certificates and my national ID (From spanish to english) , but, my big question is.....

Once the documents are translated from Spanish to English, and the affidavit is done by the translator, do I have to get the translation notarized as well? or just the translation + affidavit is enough?, because the birth certificates are already notarized, but the translation docs have to be as well? (its kinda confusing because the notarized note / seals would be in spanish over the english translation?)

I hope anyone can give me a hint on this one.. im Truly excited about my nomination under the AINP - Family Stream.

Thanks!!

no need to notarize the translated docs.... because translations are done by notarized authorities... they are licensed by govt.

Just add one thing, you have to take translation services only from the CIO approved translators. Let me know if you don't have translators list. I have done this couple months ago.

im doing the translations outside of canada (Venezuela, my country), so, there are not authorized translators around here.... I was wondering if I can just get a licensed English professor to translate the documents, notarize the affidavit and notarize the final translations as well??... Im not sure if this works that way..

anyone?

Hi luis4ever,

Please see below link. Once you are in that page, you can see translation info at the bottom of the page. Looks like you can also get it done from your home country. It's written "a recognized translator from the Candidate's home country".

http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrating/ainp-helpful-resources.aspx#docs

Also, you may search for the translators here...

http://www.atia.ab.ca/

The translators from the second link are located in Canada I believe. You may ask them if they can send you the translated documents by post to your home country.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
