Question about Status

Hi everyone,

I’m a bit nervous about my status in Canada. I applied for a Visitor Status and got approved. I sent in my Residency Application as well as my work permit and it got sent back due to a missing signature on a form. I resent the applications, however I haven’t heard back from them and my visitor status is almost expired. Should I reapply for my visitor status? Just looking for some advice since I’m not sure how it works with the implied status.

Thank you!

What kind of Residency Application did you send in? Permanent Residency based on Express Entry? or something else?

Apply to extend you visitor status $100.00 is cheap insurance you don’t end up without status if they send it back.

Thank you for the advice. That’s kinda what I’ve been thinking as well.
Yes, do this. In the extension application make sure you mention that you have already submitted your Sponsorship Application.

Note that the submission of an application for PR provides no status.
It's only the parallel submission of an open work permit application that provides implied status.

Ohhhh that makes sense! Thanks a lot. I was so confused with how implied status worked.
