Hi everyone,

Sorry in advance if this question has been asked before.
I understand that the 5000 applications per year limit has been reached for 2015. What will happen if I send my application in now? Will CIC reject it, or accept it for 2016?

Thank you.

It will be sent back. I suggest that you wait until mid-December, redo all the forms and send it to arrive as soon as possible on January 2, 2016. I'm not sure of the cut-off, but I know January 6th applications were sent back this year.

Any apps sent now will be returned, so no point in even trying this.

Program should open up again Monday January 4, 2016. Based on this year's cap being reached in a day and a half... it's pretty much a given next year CIC will receive well over 5000 applications on January 4.

I think they will switch to some kind of lottery system for all apps that arrive in the first day or 2, else anyone doing same-day delivery service who is local to Mississauga will be able to be first in line, and people sending apps from out West basically won't have a chance.

The document checklist does not say anything about police clearance or medical?

So, we don't need that as of in January 2016? Thy will be asked later maybe?
