Hey everyone,

I got an email asking for:
  • My passport or a copy of my passport (Since I am from US I am just sending a copy of my passport)
  • Two photos of myself
  • Self-Addressed pre-paid envelope
  • And to fill out Annex A form
My question is about the pre-paid envelope. In the letter, it states this:

  • If you have a mailing address in Canada:
- The pre-paid Xpresspost envelope must be from Canada Post. Please note that we will not return documents to
a Canadian address via any other courier.
- Submit all documents by mail in a single package and send to the following address:

CPC – Ottawa – PR
PO Box 9780
Ottawa ON K1G 4B9

DO NOT FILL OUT THE ADDRESS SECTION ON YOUR CANADA POST RETURN ENVELOPE.
  • If you have a mailing address in the U.S.A.:
- The Self-Addressed pre-paid envelope should be arranged with a courier that delivers between Canada and the
U.S.A.
- Submit all documents by mail in a single package and send to the following address:

CPC – Ottawa – PR
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON K1A 1L1

Since I am living in the US currently, I have a mailing address in the US. When I go to the post office and have them mail all of the requested documents, I will also ask for a pre-paid return evelope so CIC can send me anything in the future. My question is, do I need to include my US address on the pre-paid envelope? Or do I give them a pre-paid evelope that doesn't have an address on it? I have filled out an Annex A form that has my address on it. I don't know if that makes a difference anything.

Thank you for the help!

You won’t be able to get a prepaid envelope at the post office. They can’t use a USPS prepaid envelope to mail you something through Canada Post. You will need to get a prepaid envelope from a courier like Fedex.
