5. PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP IN CANADA AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY (IF
APPLICABLE)
• Proof of relationship to your close relative in Canada, such as birth, marriage or
adoption certificates.
• Documents submitted as proof of residency in Canada must be less than six (6)
months old. Example of documents:
• income tax assessment (Canada Revenue Agency) for the relative,
• telephone bills,
• credit card invoices,
• employment documents, and/or
• bank statements.

Hi,

That's ok I think but you also have to submit the "proof" that he/she is your relative. A legal document such as birth certificate should do. It all depends on what type of relative you are claiming. Remember to include a copy of his/her Permanent Residency Card too.

Regards.

Yes you can submit bank statements since it's in the list; together with the PR card. These will prove their residency in Canada. For proof of relationship, you can submit their birth certificates. They will compare these with your birth certificate and other docs to see if you are really related.
