Hello,

I received AOR from IRCC and also the request to submit the documents to Quebec to get the CSQ. When i mailed the package, i didn't request a tracking number since i live right next to Montreal and i thought it would get there in a day anyway.

I mailed the package on Dec 2. My credit card hasn't been charged yet and I called quebec immigration. The man told me they have no file under my name yet. He said to call back in a week if my credit card still doesn't get charged. Is it normal it takes so long for them to process AT LEAST the payment? I know i won't get AOR before a while nor the CSQ. I'm just worried the documents got lost in the post.

Mine was received a week ago and the credit card is still not charge. I’ll call them today to check but I don’t think you have to worry. I highly doubt your documents get lost.

So here’s what they said. He can’t see anything in the system which means either they haven’t start processing or it’s been return. He said it takes up to three weeks from the moment they receive the application. I sent mine Dec 6 and it was received Dec 10 so he said one week is a short time and that from next week probably they will have started. He told me to look out for the credit card charges that would indicate the processus have started.

Regarding the delay/backlog, he said it was caused by a large batch of applications that were received at the same time and that IRCC has more resources than MIFI to process large number of applications at the same time.

They will be close December 24-26 and December 31 to January 2.
