Hello I am applying for my children proof of citizenship they lives in usa if I write usa address on application
and father singed from Canada can I mail directly to Sydney office with all supporting documents pictures taken from usa.
OR 1st I have to send singed application to usa and than mail from usa to Sydney case processing office
Once they have proof of Canadian citizenship can they travel on us passport or they must use Canadian passport
will this create problem if they travel with non Canadian mother on us passport to Canada as visitor and having Canadian citizenship as well because their mother do not want to be Canadian resident soon may be later ..
.
thanks

  1. Since you are applying for your children, only you would sign the application in section 13 in the signature box under where it says "Signature of parent/guardian"; the father does not sign it. The only things needed from the father is a certified copy of his birth certificate and his information filled out in section 8.
  2. Dual US-Canadian citizens with US passports are exempt from the Canadian passport requirement to enter Canada, and can enter with their US passports (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/dual-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html). There is no issue if you were to travel with them if they were to use Canadian passports to enter Canada.
Since you mentioned that you may want to be a Canadian resident later, just a small caveat that having Canadian children does not give you any advantages in obtaining permanent residency; you would have to qualify under an entry program (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada.htm), or when your children turns 18 and is residing in Canada, they apply for you to be entered in the parent sponsorship lottery (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents.html).
