Question about PPR and landing?

I was wondering if once a spouse gets Passport request from Cic visa office and the passport is returned. Then what is the timeframe that the spouse have have to land in Canada. Is the a period of validity of visa in passport or the sponsored spouse have to land before meds expires?

With very few exceptions, the visa expires either when:

a) the medical expires (1 year after it's taken) or
b) when the passport it is in expires

Whichever comes first. So if your medical is valid until Dec 7th, but the passport expires on October 3rd, the visa will be valid until October 3rd. The person has to land in Canada before the visa expires.

My visa expired a few months after my medical did, but a long time before my passport is going to. I have no explanation at all for why this is. Immigration works in strange ways...
