Hi everyone, I have a question about the Police Certificate. I have already submitted my application for PR under spouse sponsorship. My husband is the PR. Now CIC replied me and asked me to submit a police certificate and they give me 30 days to complete the submission. I went to the local police station in Mississauga. They took my fingerprint and told me it could take up to 120 business days to get it. Is there anyone have the same situation? Is it gonna take that long? I don't have any criminal record by the way. Another question is does my husband also need to submit the police certificate? He is the PR and the sponsor of mine. Thank you in advance.

Yes if you done it through the police it will take 120 days . BUT if you go to an agency and Pay $125 they will send it electronically to the RCMP and you can receive it in 1 week if you don't have a criminal record ,criminal record includes overstay and all that kind of immigration none sense . your Sponsor don't need to submit a police certificate .

I think that the 30 days requirement is for the applicant to request a police certificate and send out the proof that you've done that. yes it might take more than 30 days for them to get the results but my understanding is that the results would send out to the visa office directly.cococococo said:
