Question about OWP and Implied Status

My PR application was accepted and is in the review stage. I know that's just a waiting game now. But I had to renew my visitor visa extension. I'm still waiting to hear back about the extension. Am I allowed to apply for the OWP while my visitor visa extension is pending?

You have implied status, so yes you can.

The only possible thing that could go wrong is if your visitor visa extension got refused before your OWP was approved, you would be out of status, and no longer eligible for the OWP, so you might lose the $225 if that happens. If you’re American I doubt your extension would be denied though
