question about OHIP!

I have already posted this in the Health section but I think there are more readers here...maybe someone here knows the answer??!!

"Also maybe someone can anwer me this...we have 2 children born here in Germany, 3 and 5 now, and 2 weeks ago I applied for their Proof of Canadian Citizenship, I have dual german/canadian citizenship. Does anyone know how that would work with them being OHIP covered? Will they have to wait the 3 months when we arrive in October or would I be able to apply now for them already?

I am moving to Canada with the children in October, my husband is coming with us to wait out the decision as a visitor. Our 2 boys are born here, will also have dual citizenship.

Yes - they will have to wait three months after arriving in Canada before they will have health care coverage.

Not only will your two boys have to wait 3 months after arriving in October, you also have to wait 3 months too. Basically, as soon as you get a canadian residence address, apply for OHIP for yourself and the boys. The OHIP cards will arrive in time for coverage in 3 months.
