Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
My husband doesn't have status as of yet.. we are waiting for our papers to process.. we JUST got the AOR today for the application we sent back in October 2015.
My husband doesn't have any sort of ID other than his Spain passport and ID's from his country.. and we were recently told that he can apply for an Ontario ID.
I don't see how that is possible seeing as he currently doesn't have status in Canada.
Can anyone please give me some insight??

Thanks

If he has a drivers licence he can renew his Spanish licence and get an Ontario one , but no Ontario iD is available , and no Heath Insurance either.

you don't need permanent status to apply for an Ontario driver's license. go to the service ontario site for information.

Are you applying inland or outland .

I got an Ontario drivers license 10 months before I even applied for PR, while I was on visitor status. Check the service Ontario website, I had to turn in my US drivers license to get the Ontario one, plus I had to show a copy of my driving record from my state in the US to get a full G license in Ontario. It was easy besides the 2.5 hour wait time in line at Service Ontario :-X

I would understand getting drivers license on a visitor's visa - my husband doesn't have status - at all -

i would recommend going to a driving centre and seeing what he can get. they don't ask for status when applying for licenses.

Agreed, they never asked me my status.
