question about medical report.

hello folks,

I am working on filling sponsorship application form. I believe we can attach the medical report of the person being sponsored when submitting application package to Mississauga office. My question is can we include the medical report when submitting initial application for sponsorship? or do we need to wait for request for medical report from CIC?
Also can medical report be send from DMP of country other than country of your residence?

Please let me know. i would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I would send the medical with your application. Often you have to resubmit medical as it expires by the time they work on the documents in the country where the applicant lives. They will send you a email or letter asking for medical at that time. As far as I know you have to go to a from Canada accredited medical facility in the country of your residence.

I could be wrong on this but I believe that wherever the person who is being sponsored resides, is where the medical exam needs to take place. Secondly from my experience, the medical practioner will send the medical results directly to CIC but you will have a confirmation letter from the doctor stating the exam was done without results to be sent in with your application. In our case, my wife did her medical exam after being requested by CIC. This is the better case because if the sponsor is rejected from sponsoring then you save the costs of the medical exam saves you the costs of doing it twice if the whole process takes a long time.

Thanks for the thoughts folks. I am also trying to confirm if medical can be done fromany DMP from anywhere in the world. My wife resides in USA but she is in her home country right now. I am thinking to save some time by finishing the medical report from home country . Also its really cheap to do the medical report there compared to USA.
My concern is will they give us the medical report so that I can attach it on my file when i submit my application. I havent yet submitted sponsorship application so I am not sure if DMP directly send the report to cic where would the report go?

Any advise i would be very thankful.

Hello!

Yes, your wife's medical can be done everywhere in the world only has to be done by a accredited doctor by CIC; from there this doctor will take care of your wife's results, doctor will send this medical to his/shes Canadian Emmbasy.
And yes, the doctor will give you a copie of your medical form which gos attached to your immigration paper forms.

PS Your wife needs 4 passport size photos, doctor will ask that.

Thank you all so much. so how long would the medical report be valid? since I would only be able to submit my sponsorship application on 1st week of may as I am currently out of country.

Medical report will be valid for one year.

She could have an appointment at the end of April, it would be the best, my suggestion...

Thank you so much. Today I went to one of the Local DMP here. The DMP office informed me they can give me one copy of the medical report receipt and mail the other copy to CIC.

My concern is I havent yet submitted the sponsorship application package to CIC. I can only submit it sometime on MAY. So if the DMP mails the medical report to CIC now. how would cic take care of that report since I haven't even applied for the sponsorship process. Any idea folks?? Thanks a lot

I did my medicals one month before submitting our applications so I don't think would be a problem, anyway the medicals are requested in the end of your processing time for your application....that could takes months...

Our medicals were done and submitted months prior to actually submitting our pr app and everything is ok on our end so you should have no problem. But, that's just what we've experienced.
