Hi,

I am in Canada and am sponsoring my wife who is living in Romania.
We have scheduled her medical exam for next week. Do we need to fill out the Appendix or does the doctor?
It also says the doctor will give us a form called "COPY 2"..
does anyone know if this is the correct process?

Also, Can we send in the PR application before we get the results? and just have the results sent in when they come?

any info about this step of the process would be so helpful..

thanks so much

Hopefully the process is the same for all VOs, but this is what I understand: you fill out the Appendix and the doctor will stamp it and give you a Copy 2 (which I believe is green). You need to submit the Copy 2 with the application. You won't receive the results from the doctor - s/he will send them to the VO when they are requested.

Just to expand on blueboom's post. You should send medical results with your application. You can opt to send at a later date but you run a high risk of having your application returned incomplete and having to start from the back of the queue. If you want as speedy a process as possible then best thing is to send full application, medicals, police checks and a full set of fees.

Good luck :D

To clarify - you send the copy given to you by the doctor but not the actual results of the test - no need to wait for these. AS long as you add the copy given to you by the doctor, then you're ok... once your file is transferred to the VO, the medical results will be matched up with your application because the DMP will send the results there directly.
Good luck,

Hi,

I get a little confused... I got a copy of a document called "Medical Report - Section A" but I didn't get anything called Copy 2. Hope I'm not missing a document in my application?

You're good; that's the document you need. Similar situation to why an Option C printout doesn't actually have "Option C" anywhere on it.

Related to this - I sent the required Medical Appendix A with my application which was received June 1, 2012 and I just got my AIP today which says:

"A new medical examination is required" They kindly enclosed the new form and now I have to go and do this ALL OVER AGAIN, no doubt paying another $200+ This feels like such a moneygrab I can't stand it. I already had to split the first medical into 2 visits b/c I was pregnant the first time around and couldn't get a chest x-ray.

Sorry - it is form IMM1017 (05-2010) MEDICAL REPORT: Section A Client Identification & Summary

What I cannot understand is the form date is May 2010, if I downloaded and used the current form with my application, wouldn't this have been the same form!?! GAH!
