Hi

I applied for Alberta AINP under H1B stream. Me and My family received the landing papers and visa stamping. I live in US right now and planning to drive via Detroit to Toronto.

Is it acceptable? Or do i need to land only in Alberta?

Please advise.

Thanks
Rajesh

hi,

in my opinion i think you have to land in Alberta because you are nominated under the AINP and you must also satisfy residency requirement in any place in Alberta.

Hello

It is not mandatory that you land only in AB. You can land anywhere (except Quebeck, may be)
Many of the AINPs have landed not in AB

This is extracted from the FAQs for Alberta H1B program...
25. Do I have to live / work in Alberta?
A candidate must demonstrate a clear ability and intention to establish permanently in Alberta in order to be nominated through the Alberta Immigrate Nominee Program (AINP) process. You are expected to complete the landing process in Alberta. For more information regarding permanent residence, visit: www.cic.gc.ca

Actually that is my first interpretation on the matter. But are we saying here that i cannot land in Vancouver or Toronto and then proceed to Alberta to established permanently? Do i have to land in Alberta because i got nominated under AINP? I believed that landing is not the main issue here to show your ability and intention to established permanently but rather, its the proof that shows that you will permanently settle in Alberta. Am i correct? Honestly, i am confused.
