question about landing

Finally I got passport request! I am currently working in US.
My question is, can I do landing, while I am still working in US (for example, I can take vacations, go to Canada for PR, and then come back to work) ?
Do they ask at the border, if you are still working in other country than Canada ?

So, I can land, even if I am currently working in US, and I can honestly say it in the border?
