All,
I am currently in USA and I am planning to land in Vancouver by driving a rental car across the border from Seattle. I will be in Vancouver for 3 - 4 days and return back to USA. I will go back to Canada later this year or early next year. Hopefully the economy improves and finding a job is easier. When I land in Vancouver I will be giving my friend's address (Toronto address) for the PR card. I have a few questions
1. Will there be a problem if I give a Toronto address for the PR card when I land in Vancouver?
2. Is it legal to send the PR card by post from Canada to USA?
3. Can I apply for SIN number in Vancouver and again give my friend's address?
4. Anyone who had done this before, did you face any problems? Without the PR card, I cannot re-enter canada and so I want to make sure I do this correctly.

Thanks in advande for all your replies.

CHEERS

Thanks BC Guy. Yes, I am a federal PR.

Is there someone else who can share their experience too?

You can re-enter Canada with the authorized papers without PR card if you go to the Consulate and show them your landing documents, they will give you a permission to re-enter and I am not sure what is called but it is doable. You need to do this in the US with any consulate.

New Yorker, it is a very valuable information for many. Particularly for those having no friends or family in canada and cannot wait in canada for PR after landing...

Hello,
I have another question.
Does the PR card come by regular mail or registered mail? Is a signature required at the time for receipt?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

For me that time haven't came yet, however I can put my two cents,

I think is comes through Canada Post regular mail.
