Question about implied status and confirmation cic got my application?

My partner and I sent our paper application for inland spousal sponsorship and open work permit a little over a month ago, have yet to receive any kind of confirmation that they got it in the mail.

My visitor visa expires in 2 weeks and am wondering if I need to apply for another visitor visa or if it would be under implied status.

One problem I am facing is that I have been out of work for a year now which means my funds are low. My partner is currently supporting me until I can work again in Canada so I will not be able to show much proof of funds. Would this be a problem if I need a new visa?

How long does it take on average to receive some sort of confirmation?

As long as you had valid status when you sent your application, you'll be consider to have implied status even if your visitor visa expires - Provided your application was complete and they don't send your application back)

Most people receive their Open Work Permit after almost exactly 4 months. When did they receive your application?

Are you on the Inland Application Timeline Spreadsheet?

It helps you and everyone else keep track of where they are at regarding application timelines. My application was received on Feb 10th, 2017 and I haven't received AOR yet (Acknowledge Of Receipt - The confirmation you are waiting for) but hang tight. It should be coming soon!

i suggest you do is extend your visitor visa for one year if your inland you cannot leave
