Question about immigration picture\medical check (outland spouse)

So I have 4 immigration pictures 35x45mm but it's slightly longer as there's a blank piece at the bottom (to write sign a signature.)

Basically I was just wondering if we should sign or cut off the white piece. If we cut it off, it will be 35x45mm. If not, it is slightly longer so 35x55mm.

This is for a US citizen doing spouse outland application into Canada.

Two more things, I have requested a FBI notification, so I should just submit a sheet saying waiting on response and will send in once complete?

I was also told, I should be sent a form that I should be taking to the doctors to do the medical checkup. Should I submit a sheet of paper saying I'm waiting for it with the application package, or will they know to send it already.

Thanks!

Re: Question about immigration picture

Icant really comment on the picture questions but i have asked a few times about the medical and im pretty sure im very clear now:

(before i answer, know that im Canadian and my husband is American, we are applyingas a spousal sponsorship and outland - so similar to your situation)

Based on everything i read and questions i have asked i strongly suggest that you wait to submit your application until you have your FBI letter and your have undergone your medical.
FBI takes approx 8 weeks (when did you send it) and its a requirement based on the guide that you submit both the FBI letter and the Appendix Cwith your application. Holding off and waiting for further instructions could result in your application being sent back incomplete or delaying the entire process all together.

I know the guide and all the paperwork is so much to read but it really means so much to read every word, small and large print, they might slip something in at the bottom of a page that you over look but could really have an affect.

Conclusion and my opinion: follow all instructions and do not leave anything out, this forum is amazing and asking questions is a really good way to gain confidence before submitting your application.

Lastly, i too was told that i would be sent a form but after re-reading the guide and asking questions here it appears that the DMP was probably confused and didnt realize we were applying as a spousal sponsorship and its a must that the medical be submitted with the application.
Like some have shared with me, if you are getting wrong or unclear advice try calling a different DMP and see what they have to say.

Hope this helps...keep asking the questions... thats what we are all here for.

P.s.where in the states do you live?

Cut off the white. You are supposed to submit the medical WITH the application. The form to fill out is Appendix C of the Region Specific Guide. Take that to the doctor. And you are supposed to submit the police clearance with the application. But you can write in a cover letter that you have applied for it and will submit it when you receive it.

I live in BC. Wife lives in Washington state.

I sent the FBI almost a month ago. I did attempt to call and make an appointment but the receptionist basically said the sponsor\applicants normally bring a form that they fill out and after they're done, they ship it straight to the CIC. I did not mention it was a outland spousal application though. Although they did know it was for a spouse.

I will give a call tomorrow and try another one. Have you actually gotten your medical done then? Did the DMP provide you with the forms you needed? Once you passed, did they sign off on a sheet? Lastly, did you need photos? What size?

When we're done the medical check, do they provide us with a piece of paper right there? Or do we need to wait for results in the mail?

Thank you both for clarifying this, I was about to send out this week without both. There's definitely a lot of misleading information in the forums.

My husband is going for his medical next Friday in Miami. He unfortunatly has to drive 4.5 hrs to get there...the DMP close to his house isnt able to take him before Christmas :(
Anyway the receptionist at this doctors office understood what needed to be done and was aware that we had to have the forms signed by them before submitting our application.
They told us to bring a copy of the Appendix C filled out by myhusband and 4 passport photos and of course our money to pay (about $410US)

Try to get your wife to book an appointment ASAP,once she has completed the appointment they will give you a receipt and something to say that you have completed the medical... they are not allowed to give you the results, once they are ready they will send them directly to the processing office for you. Im assuming thats why they require pictures as well, as a way to match up your results to your application. (i was nervous as i didnt understand how the processing office would ever match up the results to our massive application but i guess this is how it works so ill sit back and just trust)

Like i had mentioned earlier 8 weeks is a really good expectation for receiving your FBI letter... my husband called on the 8th week and was told it was in the mail, we received it days later. There is a thread already created about FBI Clearance Timeframes, try to search that and see what is happening to the majority.

For sure hold offon sending the application until you have this information...you are so close so its awesome that you asked the questions now :)

Good luck

Couple last questions.

Were the 4 photos with the medical the same size as the 4 photos with the applications?
When you called the FBI help line, did you just say your name and they told you what the status of your application was?

Thanks for the quick replies!

Quick replies.... i know the feeling of waiting so im happy to reply fast - plus im pretty obsessed with learning and reading as much as i can through this forum.

Im actually just doing some research as we speak about the photos. My husband hasnt gone yet, but the DMP told me that he needed to bring 4 passport photos. I will have him take the Appendix B with him when he goes to get the pictures taken, but if what i think is true, American passport photos are the same size as outlined on the App B - so unfortuantly i cannot confirm with 100%. What i have read though is that all the pictures should be the same, so i think we are going to get 8 pictures taken at the same time next week.

As for the FBI yes my husband just called and gave his name (he may have had to confirm more personal info, but i dont think so) and they confirmed that the status. I too also emailed - clearly i was so anxious - and finally received a response after the second email stating the same status that they told my husband. You are aware that your application has to be received by the processing office in Mississauga no later that 3 months from the date the FBI clearance report was issued right? You will know that date once you have received the letter back. We only have until Jan18 which makes me so nervous but im really confident that our heavy applciation will be ready over the Christmas break... i cannot wait to courier it back up to my place while im down in Florida over the break :)

K im talking too much again...good luck with everything :)

So in all we need 8 of photo's right? 4 for the DMP and 4 for the monster that is our application? We are still waiting for my husband's FBI report to come in and we sent it on the 21st of September. We have been working like mad to get all of the rest of the paperwork all ready to go ASAP. We just got his and our 3 children's passports in the mail today ;D and his medical is booked for the 14th so we are keeping our fingers crossed that the dang FBI gets here soon!!! We are also in Washington state but are looking to go to the east coast once we get my husbands PR.
