Dear all,

According to the Berlin visa office specific instructions we need to profide the following:

2. IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS
• Birth, marriage, final divorce, annulment or separation certificates for you and
your spouse or common-law partner

After reading this, it is not clear to me if they want one certificate like birth or marriage, or all the certrificate that you can profide (according to the situation), which are mentioned.

We can profide our marriage certificate but due to some reasons we can not profide birth certificate of the main applicant.

Seniors please help...

You need to submit your birth certificate.

If you are married, you need to submit a marriage certificate. If you have been married more than once, you need to submit the divorce decrees for all your previous marriages.

All of them, which may concern you, have to be provided i.e to say if you are married , you have to provide your marriage certificate to prove it, if one is divorced you need to provide, annulment or separation certificates for you and your spouse or common-law partner etc.

If you cannot provide a Birth Certificate for you or your spouse, and you are in Germany (though this will work anywhere in the world) go to a "NOTAR" and give an Affidavit. Most of the "Notar's" in Germany, will actually write it in ENGLISH for you.
If you are somewhere near Dortmund, Essen or Dusseldorf, I can give you the address of my "Notar and Rechtsanwalt".
And by the way, that is what I use and have been using for the past 22years.

I don't think it is anything to worry about. All Offices including Governmental Offices accept an Affidavit.

You HAVE to provide a BIRTH certificate regardless of you are married or not. If you are married, you have to provide a marriage certificate also.

You said you do not have a birth certificate. Send an email to your consulate to check if they accept any other document for proof of date of birth.

Thank you so much for your advice BobbyB.
I am living in the Netherlands and my visa office is in Berlin.
Can you profide me briefly information what i should ask the Notar. What should be mentioned on the Affidavit?
Are the testing documents or affidavits, profided by the Notar, expensive in Europe?
Because we have more documents that should be tested by the Notar.

Thank you and please advise...

Hi deep117,

All you need to do is take your PP to a "NOTAR", and tell him the reason why you need one- (that you are required to provide a birth certificate for yourself and your spouse, and u don't have one). He will know exactly what to write, and all he will do is make you swear to an OATH and seal it for you. I paid Euro 40 + Mehrwert steuer.

It's not a big deal at all.

I did not attest my docs from the Notar. Anyway, most of my Documents are in English. For those in German, I used the services of a Fachubersetzung GmbH Company and they attested them as well. As you are in Niederland, you may have to research further.

Good Luck.

Hi deep117,
which is you nationality? You live in Holland, are you Dutch? then you can go to the cityhall in the town where you were born and get an international birthcertificate. That would be the easiest to do. For example, in Germany you can get an international birthcertificate in the "bürgeramt" and it costs about
12 € . So thats okay. The same is with a marriage certficate.

lots of luck
