Hi everyone,

Just a few questions I want to ask.

Little background: Me and my wife got married last year in November and submitted our sponsorship application in January 2017. I live in Canada and my wife lives in China. My wife got approved and have her CoPR.

I'm going to China beginning of December for a week to help with packing and bring her to Canada. Here are a few questions I want to ask:

1. We will be arriving at YVR on Dec 11. I remember after arriving at YVR, there is a line for Canadian Passport holders and another line for PR. I'm a Canadian citizen. Would I be able to go with my wife to go through immigration?

2. For the list of items that she's bringing to Canada, what is the form do we need to complete? Or do we just write the list of items and the value on a piece of paper?

3. She is bringing a lot of clothes, I mean a lot of clothes! How do we list these and value? Anyone have an example of a list of items so I can see how to list them?

4. Also, since only each passenger can only bring maximum 2 luggage, she's bringing two luggage and I'm bringing two luggage but most (if not all) of the stuff in the luggage would be hers. Would there be a problem with that?

Thank you!

1. Normally you would go together on the non-citizen line.
2. You can do the proper form or bring a printed list of the items you're bringing along with their estimated price. Then the officer needs to write it down on his own form. I believe if you bring your form you make it more speedy.
3. They don't care about clothes, assuming you don't bring enough to appear like you're running an import/export business. What they care about is pricey electronics you appear to have just bought before crossing the border. And illegal stuff, yeah.
4. A passenger can bring as many bags they feel like, there's no limit. You're probably thinking of the airline allowing you to bring 2 bags free with your ticket ;)

Need help if anyone knows the best step to make on this situation.

I have my passport back from cic ottawa already but i don’t have a legal status right now. I have applied for work permit extension the day my work permit expired thru paper application so i guess it won’t be considered as an implied status. But I also applied for restoration already. Can I cross border to finalize my PR application?
