Hi,
My mother is here for six months on visitor visa from Jan 20 to July 20, 2019. I applied for her status restoration after 6 months of her stay. However, she is going back home on Aug 10, 2019. So she will be staying here for 20 days over 6 months. I will be getting her visa restoration and extension in or after 46 days processing time. My concern is whether the immigration create any issues during her flight back home on airport?? Thanks

Gary
There will be no issues while leaving - they don't care about people leaving Canada, even if you have overstayed by years. There's no exit immigration check.

However, depending on when you applied for the extension, there could be issues when she attempts to come back to Canada. If you applied before the six months expired, that's OK, since she is still allowed to stay legally till she gets a decision.

If you applied after the six months, then yes, she will overstay and CBSA may ask her to explain why when she comes back. 20 days is not a very big issue, but it still may raise questions.

When did you apply for the extension? Was it online? When did you receive the approval? For how many months is the approval? I am trying to track when my extension would be approved since I applied online on June 29.

Hello,

I need some advise;

My mum is currently here in canada with my family and She has a multiple entry visitor visa. She also has a valid US visa with which she intends to briefly visit my sister who is in US(for a 2 weeks period anytime within this fall season). This is her first time and she arrived in mid May and her 6 month stay will elaspe by mid November. We intend that she gets an extension to stay an additional 6 months.

My question is: if we arrange for her to visit the US for about 2 weeks before November and then she returns back to Canada, would this automatically restart a new 6 month period of her Canada stay and no need to apply for an extension for her Canada stay? Or getting the extension of her stay before she travels would remain mandatory?

Also, in which cases is completing medicals required in the extension request?

Finally, can the application for extention be anytime before the 30 days required to apply,or waiting till it is close to the 30 days better?

Thanks in anticipation of response.

Yes, if she leaves Canada and returns, she will begin a new six-month period. You don't need an extension - the extension would also expire the minute she leaves Canada, so it's pointless getting one if you know she will leave before her current six month period ends.

Hello,

I'm German and I'm in Canada with a work and holiday Visa. My Visa expires soon but I want to travel around longer.
Do I have to apply for a new Visa (visitor visa) or can I just across the boarder and stay for the 6 month which I want to have more?
I'm totally confused and have no idea anymore.

You need to apply to change your status to visitor prior to your current permit expiring.

Ok few questions since my wife OWP will not get approve before her visitor visa. Her visitor visa expires by end of March 2020. I am filling out Visitor Record (extension) application online. Few questions here..little confuse. please help

Now, currently her application is under process for OWP and PR.
Also, we have applied for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) when she was going to come to Canada for first time in 2018.
Form IMM5708e, Section: Background Information
Question 2 (c) Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada?

So, do we say "YES" and include above information?

Yes, you should tell them about all prior applications.
