I had a few quick questions about border crossings for any "essential workers"/daily commuters here who must be up-to-date with the current rules/restrictions. Please consider answering each of the below questions separately for clarity, if possible.

1. My wife is a Canadian PR and a U.S. citizen. She has a remote U.S. job. She can work from Canada for 2-3 months a year. However we are looking to move to Niagra border area and get her an apartment on the U.S. side. She would commute to the U.S. apartment (there is no office and the U.S. job is remote) to work during the day (since working from within the U.S. is a requirement), would the CBP/CBSA consider her an "essential worker" and allow her to commute without covid tests? She has already had both her vaccine shots.

2. Have you seen such a case where an apartment on the U.S. side was considered by the CBP/CBSAas a "place of employment/office location" (since the job is remote and required to be performed from the U.S.) and the commuter was allowed to commute as an essential worker exempt from the covid tests?

3. How "often" does one has to commute to be considered "essential worker"?

4. If an "essential worker" takes a break for a week from commute, say for vacation etc. Do they just take another covid test to "restart" their commute or can a break/or a few breaks from regular commute result in loss of "essential worker" status and the daily entry without covid test may be denied?

Thanks!
