Question about employment records

Hi guys, a question about my employment records about the ECE. I was working in a small company and he paid me by cheque from his business card. But now I don't have T4 form. Just want to know if reference letter from the company and also the time sheet which can be used as paystub is enough for the emploment records?
Or I need scan all the cheque and my bank details? Since I did some deposit in bank, I can't have all the cheque on hands, thats another problem.
Does someone has the same situation like me?

no, this job is a contract job, the company does not need to pay any thing, but I need pay the tax for next year's tax return

Can't you just file for tax now and upload your T1 return form?
