I'm an Indian citizen currently on a TRV in Canada with my spouse, and about to apply for my permanent residence under the Spouse or Common-Law partner in Canada Class.

I have compiled all the documents as mentioned by CIC here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/information/applications/spouse.asp#InstructionCountryResidence

I answered the following question on menu:
What country does the person being sponsored reside in? (required)
as Canada, since I am in Canada at the moment.

I hope that is the correct menu option? When I select India on the drop down, I am asked to submit an additional document - the IMM 5562 (supplementary information, your travels).

I have an second query: The above CIC webpage says:

"If a birth is registered late, include the original baptism certificate and other original documents establishing identity such as:
  • Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and
  • Voter's ID card."
My birth was registered three days after my date of birth. Should I include my old school records and voter ID card?

Submit that form along with your other paperwork. You should be reviewing those country specific items anyways as you need to submit your passport.

Ignore the previous post. Canada is the correct option.

If it was registered late, then you need to include the other documents. I don't know that the registration standards are for your country and what is considered late. You'll need to find that out.
